Lab-Grown Diamond Guide

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. They are grown in a laboratory instead of mined, and they are physically, chemically and optically the same as mined diamonds.

How lab-grown diamonds are made

Aarinya uses CVD (chemical vapour deposition) diamonds. A thin diamond seed is placed in a chamber filled with carbon-rich gas. Under carefully controlled heat and pressure, carbon atoms build up on the seed layer by layer, forming a diamond crystal. The rough diamond is then cut and polished like any other diamond.

The four Cs

Cut

Cut decides how well a diamond returns light, and it has the biggest effect on sparkle. Most Aarinya designs use Excellent cut diamonds.

Colour

Colour is graded from D (colourless) downwards. Most Aarinya designs use E–F colour, which looks icy white.

Clarity

Clarity describes tiny internal features called inclusions. Most Aarinya designs use VVS–VS clarity, where inclusions are not visible to the eye.

Carat

Carat is the diamond's weight. Larger diamonds are rarer, so price rises with carat weight.

Diamond shapes

We work with round, oval, pear, emerald, cushion, princess, marquise and heart shapes. Round brilliants give the most sparkle. Elongated shapes such as oval and pear make the finger look longer.

Why choose lab-grown

  • The same beauty and durability as a mined diamond.
  • A larger or higher-quality diamond for the same budget.
  • A clear, traceable origin.

Every Aarinya diamond is certified. See certification and hallmarking to learn how to check your report.
