Metal & Gold Purity Guide
Every Aarinya design is available in several metals. This guide explains the differences so you can choose with confidence.
Gold purity: 9K, 14K and 18K
Pure 24K gold is too soft for fine jewellery, so it is alloyed with other metals for strength. The karat tells you how much pure gold the piece contains.
| Purity | Gold content | Character |
|---|---|---|
| 9K | 37.5% | Hardest-wearing and most accessible. Paler yellow tone. |
| 14K | 58.5% | The balance of colour, durability and value. Popular for engagement rings. |
| 18K | 75% | Rich, warm colour and a luxurious weight. Slightly softer. |
Gold colours
Yellow gold
Warm and classic. Flattering on warmer skin tones and the traditional choice for Indian fine jewellery.
White gold
Bright and modern, and makes diamonds look icy white. White gold is usually rhodium-plated for extra brightness, and the plating can be refreshed over time.
Rose gold
Soft and romantic, with a pink tone from copper in the alloy. It suits every skin tone and may deepen slightly with wear.
925 sterling silver
Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver. It is a beautiful, accessible choice for everyday and fashion-led pieces. Silver can tarnish over time and is easily polished back to shine. See our jewellery care guide.
