Certification & Hallmarking

Every Aarinya piece is sold with documents you can check independently. This page explains what they are and how to verify them.

Diamond certification: IGI and SGL

Our lab-grown diamonds are graded by independent laboratories, IGI (International Gemological Institute) or SGL (Solitaire Gemological Laboratories). The grading report records the diamond's key characteristics:

  • Carat weight: the weight of the diamond.
  • Colour: graded on a scale from D (colourless) downwards. Most Aarinya designs use E–F colour.
  • Clarity: how free the diamond is from inclusions. Most Aarinya designs use VVS–VS clarity.
  • Cut: how well the diamond returns light. Most Aarinya designs use an Excellent cut.
  • Origin: the report states that the diamond is laboratory-grown.

How to verify a grading report

Enter the report number printed on your certificate into the laboratory's online report check (on the IGI or SGL website). The details shown should match your certificate.

Gold hallmarking: BIS and HUID

Aarinya gold jewellery is hallmarked under the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) scheme. A BIS hallmark includes:

  • the BIS logo;
  • the purity grade, for example 14K or 18K;
  • a six-character HUID (Hallmark Unique Identification) code, unique to that piece.

How to verify a HUID

Download the government's BIS CARE app, choose "Verify HUID" and enter the six-character code. The app shows the purity and the hallmarking centre that tested the piece.

What you receive with your order

  • The diamond grading report (IGI or SGL), where applicable.
  • Your invoice, which you will need for exchange or buyback.
  • Your piece, hallmarked as described above.

Keep your invoice and certificates safe. They are required for exchange and buyback.
